What You Can Expect

Month 1:

Staying True to Your Values

Date: Friday, February 12, 2027

9:30 am - 12:30 pm PST - IN PERSON
Location: TBD

We begin by exploring what it means to lead from a place of clarity and integrity within complex systems.

As leaders, we are continually responding to competing priorities, organizational pressures, shifting expectations, and the needs of those around us. Over time, these pressures can shape what we prioritize and even what we believe is possible.

During this session, we’ll explore:

  • What matters most to you as a leader, and how your values show up in practice

  • How organizational culture, systems, and expectations influence our choices

  • Where you may have adapted, compromised, or lost sight of what matters

  • The tensions and competing priorities you are navigating

  • How to recognize when you are leading from your values and when you are being pulled by the system

  • We’ll also begin building the trust and shared agreements that will guide our work together over the five months.

You’ll leave with:

  • A deeper understanding of your leadership in context

  • Greater awareness of the forces shaping your decisions and priorities

  • A clearer sense of what you want to remain true to in the months ahead

Month 3: Leading with Presence

Date: Friday, April 16, 2027

9:30 am - 12:30 pm PST - IN PERSON

Location: TBD

In complex and high-pressure environments, leadership often asks us to move quickly, to respond, decide, solve, and keep things moving. Yet some of the most important leadership moments require something different: slowing down enough to notice what is happening, stay connected to ourselves, and respond rather than react.

This month explores presence as a way of leading with ourselves, with others, and within the complexity of the systems we work in.

During this session, we’ll:

  • Explore what it means to stay present when situations are uncertain, difficult, or emotionally charged

  • Notice how our assumptions, emotions, urgency, and habits shape the way we lead

  • Explore the space between what is happening and how we choose to respond

  • Work with real leadership situations involving tension, conflict, competing needs, or difficult conversations

  • Consider how presence creates more space for listening, discernment, and meaningful dialogue

  • Explore the balance between compassion, boundaries, authority, and accountability

  • We’ll also consider what it takes to remain grounded when the emotional and relational demands of leadership are high.

You’ll leave with:

  • A deeper understanding of your own leadership presence

  • Greater capacity to pause, notice, and respond with intention

  • New ways of approaching difficult conversations and moments of tension

  • A more grounded way of holding both people and the work

Month 5:

Session 1: Identity Beyond Productivity

Date: Friday, June 11, 2027

9:30 am - 12:30 pm PST - ONLINE via Zoom

For people who care deeply about their work, the line between commitment and over-identification can become difficult to see. When our work is meaningful, it can be easy to give more, carry more, and gradually make our roles part of who we are.

This month invites us to consider what it means to lead as a whole person, not just as a professional, problem-solver, or the person others rely on.

During this session, we’ll:

  • Explore the relationship between identity, purpose, achievement, and our sense of worth

  • Notice where work may have become too central to our sense of self

  • Consider the difference between being deeply committed and overly invested

  • Explore how over-responsibility and the need to be useful can shape our choices and relationships

  • Reflect on what gets lost when work takes up too much space

  • Consider boundaries that protect not only our energy, but our lives beyond work

  •

We’ll explore ways of staying engaged and purposeful while making space for relationships, creativity, rest, play, curiosity, and the other parts of ourselves that make us whole.

You’ll leave with:

  • A deeper understanding of your relationship with work and achievement

  • Greater awareness of where you may be giving more than is sustainable

  • A clearer sense of the parts of your life and identity that deserve more space

  • A more intentional approach to boundaries, commitment, and how you want to live alongside your work

Month 2:

Creativity as a Way of Seeing

Date: Friday, March 12, 2027

9:30 am - 12:30 pm PST - ONLINE via Zoom

In complex systems, we can become accustomed to seeing things in familiar ways. Creativity offers another way in, helping us slow down, notice what we might otherwise miss, and see situations from different perspectives.

In this session, we’ll explore how creative practice can deepen understanding, open up thinking, and help us communicate beyond words.

During this session, we’ll:

  • Explore how creativity can shift the way we see ourselves, our teams, and the challenges we face

  • Pay attention to what is often overlooked: tone, energy, images, stories, and dynamics beneath the surface

  • Use creative approaches to explore complex situations from different perspectives

  • Explore how creative expression can help us communicate ideas, experiences, and possibilities

  • Consider how bringing creativity into teams can open conversation and make space for new thinking

You’ll leave with:

  • New ways of seeing and understanding complexity

  • Creative approaches to bring into conversations, meetings, and team work

  • A deeper appreciation for how creativity creates space for different perspectives and possibilities

  • Ideas for helping your team think, communicate, and work differently

Month 4: Navigating Complex Work Environments

Date: Friday, May 14, 2027

9:30 am - 12:30 pm PST - IN PERSON

Location: TBD

Leadership within complex systems asks us to work with uncertainty, competing priorities, shifting relationships, and change that rarely happens in a straight line.

This month invites us to step back and look more closely at the systems we work within, and how they shape what we see, what we can influence, and how we lead.

During this session, we’ll:

  • Notice the patterns, relationships, and forces shaping your work environment

  • Explore how power, roles, relationships, history, and competing priorities influence what is possible

  • Consider where you sit within these systems and how your position shapes what you can see, influence, or shift

  • Work with real situations to notice where effort isn’t creating movement and where a different approach might

  • Consider where small, thoughtful shifts may have more impact than trying to change everything at once

We’ll explore ways of seeing and working with complexity that can help you intervene more wisely without taking responsibility for things that are not yours to carry.

You’ll leave with:

  • A clearer understanding of the dynamics shaping your work

  • Greater ability to navigate complexity without being consumed by it

  • A stronger sense of where your leadership can have meaningful influence

  • New ways of approaching challenges with clarity, creativity, and intention

Month 5:

Session 2: Leading Forward

Date: Friday, June 11, 2027

9:30 am - 12:30 pm PST - IN PERSON

Followed by lunch together
Location TBD

We close by stepping back from the pace of everyday work to see what has shifted and consider how you want to carry that awareness forward.

Over five months, we have explored how we lead from our values, how creativity changes what we see, how presence shapes our response, how systems influence what is possible, and how we can remain whole while doing meaningful work.

This final session brings those threads together and asks: What do I want to carry forward from here?

During this session, we’ll:

  • Reflect on what has changed in how you see yourself, your leadership, and the systems you work within

  • Revisit the questions, tensions, and insights that have stayed with you

  • Identify what you want to deepen, let go of, or do differently

  • Explore the kind of leader and person you want to be in the next season of your life and work

  • Share what we have learned from one another and acknowledge the collective wisdom of the group

Rather than creating another plan to follow, we’ll create space to listen for what has become clearer and find direction in what you now know matters.

You’ll leave with:

  • A deeper sense of who you are as a leader and what you want to remain true to

  • Clarity about what you are ready to carry forward and what you are ready to release

  • A renewed sense of possibility about how you want to lead and live

  • A meaningful closing to the journey, with relationships and insights that can continue beyond it
